Overview
CUE-X provided the firm with specialist resources in Change Management, Project Management, Master Scheduling and Communications and Engagement. CUE-X has continued to support the firm with SAP resources replacing previous staff with more experienced cleared resources that the client continues to provide high praise on. The team previously had challenges with rotation of team members and mismatch in skills. CUE-X deep understanding of ERP implementations and the Defence environment helped the firm develop a stronger team with increased capacity, skills and experience in implementing ICT Projects specifically large ICT transformations in SAP.
A global engineering and project management firm was working with a large government department on a significant ERP implementation being delivered. The CUE-X team partnered with them to provide specialist SAP resources in change management and program management & assurance to support the department’s implementation of ERP.
Task
Key Accountabilities
The Cue-X team worked closely with the firm’s team to understand their requirements and that of the client’s to ensure the roles and talent were scoped out accurately. This involved gaining an understanding of the scope, deliverables, role requirements, responsibilities, clearances and work environment. Importantly, CUE-X worked to understand the clients challenges and help support the uplift in the RAAF ADF/APS Transition Team members. CUE-X resources have worked alongside the ADF/APS, uplifting their skills and experience, making them more confident in engaging RAAF and implementing the change. CUE-X has specifically worked on ICT implementation and transformation capability with RAAF helping uplift their skills in Programmatic’s and Change Management. This is a targeted skills uplift Program driving ICT capability and Program and Change delivery skills to be reapplied back into Air Force as ADF return operational roles when posted.
This includes working side by side with the ADF and APS teams to impart the knowledge, experience and work focus areas that are critical to implementation.
CUE-X People developed the Change and Business Readiness Team including Change Manager/Training Manger and Communications Manager. These resources have developed an end to end change management strategy, plan and has driven the delivery of change activities across AIr Force. This has included managing the change and engagement for 18,000 personnel across Air Force. This includes change planning, change measures, stakeholder analysis and engagement, communications, SharePoint, e-campaigns, article development for Defence channels, training implementation and more.
The CUE-X team also provided the resources for the Program Management and Assurance Team managing delivery of the implementation across Air Force. This includes Program Management, scheduling, risks/issues, dependencies, reporting, governance, briefs/papers for leadership and management of all key activities across Air Force for the implementation of ERP.
The solution provided to the firm continues to grow and build which has resulted in them continuing to engage Cue-X People in sourcing resources for projects, contracts and planning out the development of teams.
Outcome
Cue-X People worked with its network to bring in the specialist experience. This has transformed the way that the firm delivers Change, Training and Communication for the RAAF. The resources have brought in a new level of experience and capability that compliments and further enhances the firm team and outcomes to Defence. There was previous instability in the team, and risk around deliverables which the CUE-X People resources working along with the firm resolved. RAAF have continued to provide positive feedback of the team and its ability to integrate with the RAAF ERP Transition team. The resources have developed strong relationships with DDG that has helped RAAF drive a better experience for users, ensuring it is fit for purpose.
